Homework

Reading:
Daily homework includes reading to or with your child 15 minutes a day.
Ask your child questions about stories and discuss characters, setting,
problem, and solution. Help your child sequence the story asking what
happened first, second, etc., and how the story ended.

Writing:
Have your child practice writing his/her name. Make sure to start with a
capital and follow with lowercase letters. Writing names in all capitals is
a difficult habit to change.

Letter Sound Homework:
1. Look for at least 3 pictures of things that start with the target sound
in magazines, catalogs, newspapers, stickers, etc.
2. Glue the pictures inside the box.
3. Have you child sound out the word and write only the sounds he/she hears.
(Correct spelling is not what we are looking for.)
4. You (parent) will write the correct spelling below your child's spelling.
5. This homework is sent home each Tuesday, and is due each Friday.
