What is MIDI for Kids?

MIDI for Kids is an afterschool music keyboard and guitar program 
incorporating ear training and sight reading into a group lesson 
format. Ms. 
Shepherd is one of the MIDI for Kids piano teachers at Brushy 
Creek. Mr. 
Halliburton is the other guitar and piano teacher.

How many students are in each lesson?

For piano class - There are 6 student sized keyboards and 1 
teacher keyboard 
in the music classroom.  Most classes have 6-7 students.
For guitar - Class size ranges from 4 - 9 students.

What is the cost and who do I ask about financial questions?

The fee is $65 a month for nine months plus a one time 
registration fee.  Contact Midi for Kids at

How often do students have a lesson?

Students meet once a week for a total of 30 lessons per year.  
Each lesson 
is 45 minutes long.

What are students expected to do at home each week?

Student materials consist of a MIDI for Kids book and a lesson 
book. Each 
student will receive a weekly practice sheet which lists the 
assignments and 
also a tally sheet to record home practice time. 
Students are expected to practice regularly according to age. 10 
minutes a 
day is a great start for beginners. Older students will be 
encouraged to 
practice 15-30 minutes a day.

When can I register my child?

Right Now!  You can register at www.midiforkids.com anytime.  If 
the class 
in which you are interested is full, you will be placed on a 
waiting list.
