This is my 26th year teaching Kindergarten at Brushy Creek! I have
also taught first grade in Florida and Music in New York. I like
teaching Kindergarten since it gives me the opportunity to give
students a strong foundation for learning and life.
I was born and raised in Ossining, New York and graduated from TCU.
I've visited India several times with my husband,Prakash, who was born
there, and lived in Hong Kong for a while. We have two
children. Amol just finished his degree in Business
Management at UTA, after winning first place in the Food and Wine
Foundation's Eighth Annual Stephan Pyles Culinary Scholarship Cookoff and
working as a line cook. Mallika is a UT graduate in French and History and is
working as a fraud investigator.
I like to read, exercise and garden with native plants. My husband and I
like to walk together and watch movies. Someday I would like
to visit Russia. I am taking care of a turtle that is Mallika's and a
bearded dragon that is Amol's. My colleagues voted me Brushy Creek's Teacher
of the Year.
My mission statement:
All of my students will learn to think, solve problems and be
respectful in a safe, nurturing environment.
Class mission statement:
We will listen to and help each other, read, write, play and be
respectful.
