This is my 23rd year teaching Kindergarten at Brushy Creek! I have
also taught first grade in Florida and Music in New York. I like
teaching Kindergarten since it gives me the opportunity to give
students a strong foundation for learning and life.
I was born and raised in Ossining, New York and graduated from TCU.
I've visited India several times with my husband, who was born
there, and lived in Hong Kong for a while. I've also traveled to
other countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia. We have two
children. Amol, 29,is working as a line cook, after winning first
place in the Food and Wine Foundation's Eighth Annual Stephan Pyles Culinary
Scholarship Cookoff and Mallika,26, is a fraud investigator. I like to read,
exercise and garden with native plants.
This summer I visited England, Scotland, Wales and France and had a fabulous
time! In England I saw Stonehenge; Beatrix Potter's house and garden where
Peter Rabbit was written; Nottingham Castle from the story of Robin Hood;
Charles Darwin's museum-the father of modern science; and Windsor Castle,
where the current Royal Family lives. In Scotland we saw Stirling Castle and
the Wallace Monument, the story of the movie Braveheart. Wales has gorgeous
scenery and in France we visited the Burgundy region. Seeing historical
places is fascinating!
My mission statement:
All of my students will learn to think, solve problems and be
respectful in a safe, nurturing environment.
Class mission statement:
We will listen to and help each other, read, write, play and be
respectful.
