Course Description:
Students will develop their technology skills using such programs as
Microsoft; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher. Students will learn how to
create a web page and post a blog. They will learn about different careers
and college choices. Students will also practice their typing and
communication skills.
Classroom Expectations:
#1 Respect the teacher and other students
#2 Come to class on time and prepared
#3 Use materials safely and appropriately
#4 Clean up quietly then be seated
#5 Always do your best
*Failure to follow school and classroom rules will result in a “Classroom
Management Behavior Plan”. This management plan allows for a Level I (Non-
verbal intervention), Level II (Verbal intervention), Level III
(Consequences), and Level IV (Removal). Each student will be evaluated on a
case-by-case bases.
Grading Policy:
40% Major Projects: Projects taking longer than 1 week to complete.
30% Small Projects: Projects taking less than 1 week to complete.
15% Journals/Warm-ups: Journals include notes and or Warm-ups are lesson
related activities, responses, or worksheets that will be assigned daily.
Journals/warm-ups will be checked weekly.
15% Daily Practice: Students will receive a weekly grade for their
participation, preparation, and behavior. Students will lose points for not
following classroom expectations.
Absence:
Students have 2 days to make up work for each absence. You are responsible
for missed work!
Tutorials:
Time for students to come to the Discovery room to catch-up on late work,
projects, or work in their journal-Thursdays from 3:45-4:45 p.m.
