About Mrs. Collins

My name is Jillian Collins and I am entering my sixth year of teaching.  This is my second year at Cactus Ranch Elementary and I am excited and honored to be working for such a great school.  I am a raving fan!  I have earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Pepperdine University and a Master's Degree from Texas Woman’s University.  In my classroom I strive to create a developmentally appropriate classroom where students are active participants in managing their own learning environment.  Student success is my primary goal.

My family and I moved a year ago to Round Rock from Denton, Texas where I taught second grade at Woodrow Wilson Elementary, a title one Exemplary rated school.  My husband, Andrew, is a sales engineer for a software company.  My daughter, Ava, will be four in October and my son, Tristan, will be one in November.  As a parent I know you send me your very best child.  I promise to care for and teach them to the very best of my ability.

In an effort to keep all parents informed, I find it very effective to communicate by e-mail.  However, I also welcome and appreciate conferences by phone and in person if you should ever have a concern.  My door is always open.  I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with your child!
