What is a Tuesday Folder?

Every Tuesday a folder will be sent home with every child. This
folder will contain your child's graded work from the previous
week as well as important information from the school and from
me. Please make sure that you check all of the papers in the
folder. Some will require immediate attention.

How do you celebrate birthdays in the classroom?

Birthdays and class parties are very important to your child and
to me. It is fun to celebrate with friends! If you wish to
celebrate your child's birthday with the class please let me know
a day in advance. I have set aside a special time in the
afternoon (2:15-2:40 pm) for just such an occasion. You are
welcome to bring a store bought treat, drinks and paper products
to share. If you need to drop these supplies off in the morning,
I am more than happy to serve them at the appropriate time. All
other class parties will be coordinated by my room parent.

What happens when school is over?

The pick-up procedure will be similar to last year. Please make
sure that you let me know by the first day of school where your
child is supposed to go at the end of the day. If your child’s
pick up procedure will be different on any day of the year please
call the office (424-8000) and let them know about the change.
They will pass that information on to me. Students riding by bus
or van will be escorted to the busses at the end of the day.
Students riding by car will be escorted at 2:45 pm to wait for
confirmation that their car is waiting for them. Walkers and bike
riders will leave at 2:45 pm with a teacher to a designated 2nd
grade meeting area. Please let me know if you have any questions
or if I can do anything to assist your child during the dismissal
procedure.

What is the best way to get ahold of my child's teacher?

In an effort to keep all parents informed, I find it very
effective to communicate by e-mail
(jillian_collins@roundrockisd.org). However, I also welcome and
appreciate conferences by phone and in person if you should ever
have a concern (424-8035). My conference/planning period is from
9:55-10:45am.
