This is my second year as a classroom teacher. Last year, I taught third
grade here at CRE. I am excited to be teaching second graders this year!!
Previously, I was a substitute teacher with Round Rock ISD for two years. I
have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of
Illinois and I obtained my teaching certification through the Teacher
Recruitment Program at Texas State University. Before then, I stayed home
with my two children for 10 years. In my first career, I worked as a human
resources manager for a large medical center in Aurora, Illinois and the
American Dietetic Association in Chicago. I have lived in Minnesota,
Michigan, Missouri, Illinois, New Jersey, and Texas.
I have been married to my husband, Spencer, for 19 years. We have two
amazing children; Lauren who is a Freshman at Round Rock High School and
Mitchell who is in 6th grade at Walsh Middle School.
To create a community of learners that values the uniqueness of every student
and inspires all to work toward a goal of personal best.
I believe that each student is unique and deserves an educational atmosphere
that is caring, safe, respectful, and stimulating. It is my goal as a
teacher to show my appreciation and understanding for the needs of each
individual student and his/her family. I will guide students in creating a
community of learners with regular class meetings in which everyone has an
opportunity to contribute.
I believe that my role as an educator is to provide students opportunities
for discovery and learning. I enjoy showing learners ways to seek and
process information, and to effectively work individually and in groups. I
will provide interactive and hands-on activities that will stimulate
curiosity and dialog. I will share information and resources with families
to keep them informed and help them with their special role in the learning
journey of the child.
I believe that clear goals, objectives, and expectations are the foundation
of an effective classroom. I have positive expectations for myself and each
student that I work with. It is my sincere privilege to be a Teacher!
