write their spelling list. This is also where your child will write the
title of the book they read each night.
Shoe Info: Tuesday and Thursdays students must wear athletic shoes to
school. Sorry...No Crocs on these days.
discipline procedures:
Green Dot: Great Day- Your student has had a great day and
consistently has followed all guidelines and expectations without
reminders. Each student will start off on a great day!
Yellow Dot: Warning- Your student has received repeated warnings
for not meeting a classroom expectation. This is a time for your child to
stop and think about their choices.
Orange Dot: Time Out- Your student received time out because they
continued to not meet the classroom expectations. There is a possibility of
immediately moving to orange for certain aggressive behaviors.
Red Dot: Note/Call Home- Your child has had a tough day and has made
inappropriate choices. You will either receive a phone call, e-mail or note
home explaining your child’s behavior.
**Blue Dot: Superstar Day- In order to reward specific, outstanding
behavior (above and beyond classroom expectations) your child may receive a
blue dot. A blue dot is considered a bonus! Please celebrate these but
realize that they are rarely given.
We are a family here in first grade and we believe that children learn best
in an environment where they feel loved and secure. In order to have
security, classroom limits must be in place. We communicate daily with the
children about our expectations on how we behave in the classroom. We will
hold the students responsible and accountable for their actions.
Snack Information:
Your child will need to bring an individual snack everyday. Please send a
healthy snack that your child is able to open by themselves and that does
not require a spoon or fork.
We are always happy to have donations to our class Snack Crate.
