5th Grade Expectations

 

  1. Homework will be turned in each day.
  2. Follow the instructions given by the teacher.
  3. Do not interrupt or talk when someone else is talking.
  4. Stay on task.When I am teaching, do not ask me to get water or to go to the restroom unless it is an extreme emergency.When I am teaching in class, you must follow along.  If I call on you, you must know exactly where we are and be able to answer accordingly.
  5. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
  6. Distracting others instruction will not be tolerated.  This includes, but is not limited to:  burping (on purpose), tapping, being silly, etc.
  7. Make eye contact.  When someone is speaking, keep your eyes on him or her at all time.  If someone makes a comment, turn and face that person.
  8. Do not show disrespect with gestures, words, or body language.  This includes disrespect towards other students, adults, and CRE staff.
  9. When we are in transition from one subject to the other, the change will be swift, quiet, and orderly.
  10. Clean up after yourself!
  11. When in a line, walk single file with your arms at your sides.  You should face forward at all times.  There is absolutely no talking.
  12. Never cut line.  If someone cuts in front of you, do not say or do anything about it.  Let it happen, but let me know about it.  I will handle the situation.
  13. Be respectful of other peoples privacy.  This includes sharing information that someone has asked you not to share, gossiping, as well as discussing another student's grades. 
  14. Display appropriate manners in the restroom.  This includes respecting other peoples privacy, keeping the restroom clean, as well as not playing around.
  15. Show good sportsmanship.  If you win or do well at something, do not brag.  If you lose, do not show anger. 
  16. No matter what the circumstances, always be honest.  Even if you have done something wrong, it is best to admit it to me, because I will respect that, and oftentimes I will forget any disciplinary measures because
    of your honesty.
  17. While you are with a substitute teacher, you will obey the same rules that you follow when I am with you.
