Cactus Ranch Elementary School
5th Grade

I am so excited for the upcoming school year. Take a moment and read a little more about your new teacher.
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with two Bachelor Degrees in History and Economics. I then moved to the beautiful Islands of Hawaii where I received a Masters Degree in Education. I taught 5th grade and middle school for the first 5 years in Honolulu. I am very happy to be returning back to Cactus Ranch for a fourth year. I am excited to be returning to the 5th grade for the third year. This past 3 years has been some of the most exciting years of my life. I moved to Round Rock 3 years ago, got married in October 2008, and had a beautiful baby boy (Christian) July 14th 2009. My husband and I were very happy to celebrate his second birthday this past summer.

I truly enjoy being a teacher and working with children as they offer so many different perspectives about life and solving problems. It is this unique perspective that brings great joy to my career. As a teacher I have always held high expectations for all of my students. I believe if you continue to support, believe in, and guide a child, they can achieve anything. This is the foundation passed on from my own parents. This foundation is what guides my teaching philosophy.

Success is our Mission
We can succeed above and beyond our expectations. If we take a chance, believe in ourselves, and never give up, we can do anything we put our minds to.

I leave you with one final thought that my first graduating class just left me with this past summer as they head off to college. They asked me to pass along these words to any of my students who were willing to take it. This year I plan to use it as our class moto:
Be who you are and Love who you are, because you are worth it
