Language Arts:
We have started reading groups and your child is being instructed on their
instructional level in a small group. We continue to grow in our abilities of
reading workshop. Our main topic right now is Schema--everything we know! Our
schema will help us make connections to the stories we read.
In writing we continue to work on our small moment stories. We are working
really hard to focus it down while adding feeling and detail.
Math:
We are having been building, comparing and ordering numbers. We are working
really hard to understand the numbers we are using. We are also beginning
addition strategies that will help us become fluent problem solvers.
Social Studies:
Science:
We have been studying rocks. We have been learning the properties of rocks, how
they are changed, and how rocks are useful. We are currently studying soil and
how soil is useful.
