Dear Parents,

Special Stars are very important students that have demonstrated good citizenship, excellent effort, and an understanding of school and class rules. Since this is an earned honor, I do not plan out the schedule for the entire year.  Your child will know one week ahead of time that his/her important week is coming up! 

This week will be very special! Each day your child will have the opportunity to share different things with the class. May we ask for your help in guiding your child through these activities?

 
MONDAY:   I would like you to help your child locate some favorite photos of him/herself at different ages, your family, pets, special events in his/her life and more. Please attach these pictures to a poster board. I would also encourage your child to write short captions under the photos and decorate the poster. Your child should be able to read the captions or tell us about the pictures. The pictures should come to school on Monday.

TUESDAY: On this day your child will share the information on the attached page. I would like your child to do the writing to fill in the sentences; you may help as needed. At the end of the week, this page will become part of a class book. 

WEDNESDAY: Today is sharing day! Your child may bring in one thing from home that gives us an idea of what your child enjoys doing. For example, if your child is a rock collector, he/she can bring in the favorite rock from that collection. Please make sure that whatever comes in does not break or is not extremely valuable. I would hate for anything to happen to that item!

THURSDAY: MYSTERY DAY! On Wednesday afternoon, the "mystery can" will come home. Please follow the directions inside the "mystery can" and return it to school on Thursday.

FRIDAY: The last day for our Special Star! The photos will come home on this day.
