Why do we have to study History?

We study History to learn about where we came from.  Most people take for 
granted the struggles and achievements that people have had to give us the 
things we have now.  We also learn History to not repeat the mistakes of the 
past or to build on the successes.

Why is History boring?

It isn't.  Actually depending on how much you put into it, History is 
actually a fun subject.  If you read stories or listen to tales, then 
basically that is what History is.  One big story.

Yes, History is a core subject, and must be taken and passed to go to high 
school.
