I was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and grew up in San Diego,
California. After high school I moved here to Texas to attend Southwest
Texas State University (Texas State) where I graduated with a degree in
Bachelors in Liberal Arts for History and a Bachelors in Liberal Arts in
Mass Communications (Broadcasting). I then went back SWTSU to earn my
certification in Education. I worked at a charter school for 3 years in
Houston teaching 8th grade U.S. History, and now I am in my sixth year at
Canyon Vista Middle School also teaching 8th grade U.S. History. I also lead
the annual 8th Grade U.S. History trip in the summer.
I like shopping, going to the movies, trying new restaurants, and playing
any sports. I dislike rude people, those who waste the intelligence that was
given to them, and cockroaches.
To help students gain a better understanding of our country's past, and
to help them gain a greater appreciation for the country that they live in.
If I can get a student to like History, then I feel that I done my job as an
educator.
I also strive to help students reach their full potential in whatever they
have a passion for, even if it is math, and as long as it isn't illegal.
