Visiting the Classroom Parents are always welcome to visit the classroom, however we must remember that the children are here to learn. In order to keep the classroom running smoothly, the following rules will be in place at all times:
1) All visitors or volunteers must sign in at the office. Your driver's license will be scanned. Once signed in, you will receive a visitor's picture sticker that will indentify you while on the school campus. This is a school wide rule that is for the safety of all the children. 2) Please save discussions about your child for the teacher's conference time. It is important that all of my attention be focused on the children from 7:30-3:15. 3) Don't be surprised if I put you to work! You may be asked to listen to a child read, work with a group of students, sort papers, file papers, read to the class, etc. I love to have visitors in my classroom and always welcome you, but remember that these rules are in place for the benefit of all children. The less distraction I have in the classroom, the more learning for the children. Please contact me if you or someone you know has experience in a subject area we are studying. I always enjoy having special guest speakers. Homework Homework is to be completed and returned the next day. Homework gives children the opportunity to practice the work we have learned in class on their own. When your child is doing their homework at night, encourage them to figure out the answers on their own. Check over their work and encourage them to double-check their answers. If you see several wrong answers ask them how they got that answer, then guide them towards the right one! Monday - Read and Spelling Practice Tuesday - Read and Math Practice Wednesday - Read Thursday - Read and Math Practice Friday - Read Please remember to sign the Homework sheet each night
