Week 2: August 31 - Sept 4 8/31: Number Properties - I returned quiz #1 from Friday today. >--HW: W/S Properties of Numbers (on back of notes page) - complete all 9/1: Simplify Algebraic expressions - combining like terms >--HW: W/S Combining like terms #1-32 E; show underlining, circling, etc. like in our examples
9/2: Quiz #2 "Get Ready for the Test!" Covers all material so far in unit 1 - I will return these to the kids on Friday so they will have them to study over the weekend before the Unit #1 Test. We are getting a class set of books for the classroom - so students can leave their math books at home - yea!! >--HW: W/S Computation - complete all
9/3: Simplify Algebraic Expressions - Using Distributive Property >--HW: W/S Intro to Distributive Property - complete all on a work page 9/4: Scavenger hunt Review for Unit #1 Test Quiz #2 was given back today. I am using the review activity today as an opportunity for kids to raise the quiz grade. Also, they have an optional project - completing number property flashcards - that can also be completed to add points to the quiz grade. The flashcards need to be completed; put on notecards; put in a baggie; brought to class on Tuesday in order to receive the extra credit. Unit #1 Test on Wednesday (after labor day) Enjoy your weekend!
