  • Students will use their notes from yesterday to complete the 16.1 summary check
  • After the summary check, students will use the rest of class to complete the summary notes for section 2 of chapter 16.

Thursday

  • Using their notes from yesterday, students will complete the 16.2 summary notes
  • After the summary check is completed the class will review sections 1 and 2 of chapter 16
  • Students will need to study the 16.1 and 16.2 summary checks to prepare for tomorrow's quiz

Friday

  • 16.1 and 2 Quiz
  • After the quiz, students will complete summary notes for section 3 of chapter 16.
  • There will be a summary check over 16.3 on Monday

Schedule for March 1st through the 5th

Monday

  • Students will complete a summary check using their summary notes over chapter 15, section 1.
  • After grading and reviewing the summary check for 15.1, students will begin the 15.2 summary notes. These notes will be homework if not finished during class

Tuesday

  • Students will complete a summary check using their summary notes over chapter 15, section 2
  • After grading the 15.2 summary check, we will review sections 1 and 2 of chapter 15 as a class. Students need to study for the 15.1 and 2 quiz for homework

Wednesday

  • Students will complete the 15.1 and 2 Quiz
  • After the quiz students will begin learning about how the issue of slavery dominated U.S. politics in the 1850's. Students will need to complete the 15.3 summary notes for homework if they do not complete them during class.

Thursday

  • Students will demonstrate their note-taking ability when they complete today's summary check over chapter 15, section 3.
  • After completing the 15.3 summary check students will dive into the exciting world of Lincoln's first election and the subsequent secession of the Southern States! If students get too excited, which is easy to do, and don't complete their 15.4 summary notes during class, they will need to complete them for homework.

Friday

  • Students will complete the 15.4 summary check using their 15.4 summary notes
  • After grading the 15.4 summary check, the class will review sections 3 and 4 of chapter 15.
  • The chapter 14 and 15 test will be given on Tuesday of next week

Schedule for February 22-26

Monday

  • Chapter 13 Celebration of Knowledge
  • In addition to the study guide (on the social studies docs page), students will need to study the map from Friday and read about the Mormon Trail in the text book.
  • Begin Chapter 14. 1 and 2 Summary Notes. These will be homework if not finished during class.

Tuesday

  • Student will complete the 14.1 and 2 Summary Check using their summary notes from yesterday.
  • As a class we will review section 1 and 2 of chapter 14 (Review on the social studies docs page).

Wednesday

  • Students will take the 14.1 and 2 Quiz
  • After the quiz students will complete the summary notes for sections 3 and 4 of chapter 14

Thursday

  • Students will complete a summary check using their notes from Wednesday over sections 3 and 4 of chapter 14
  • After the summary check we will review sections 3 and 4 as a class (on the social studies docs page).

Friday

  • End of the 4th Six weeks
  • There will not be a test over chapter 14
  • Students will complete the summary notes for chapter 15 section 1 (summary check on Monday)

  • After the test, students will complete summary notes for 12.1 "Politics of the People." These notes are homework if not finished during the class period.

Tuesday

  • Using the notes from yesterday, the students will complete the 12.1 summary check
  • After grading and reviewing the 12.1 summary check the students will complete summary notes for 12.2. These notes are homework if not finished during class.

Wednesday

  • Using the notes from yesterday, the students will complete the 12.2 summary check
  • For homework, students need to study the summary checks and notes from sections 1 and 2 of chapter 12

Thursday

  • 12.1 and 2 Quiz
  • After the quiz, students will complete summary notes for sections 3 and 4 of chapter 12.

Friday

  • Using the notes from yesterday, the students will complete the 12.3 and 4 summary check
  • Students will receive a review sheet to study over the weekend. There will be a chapter 12 test when the students return to school on Tuesday.
