Wednesday, Oct. 15: Continue reading in Chapters 5 and 6. Warm-up: Demonstrative and Interrogative Adjectives in Purple Workbook on page 29 (Exercise 1 only)
Thursday, Oct. 16: Review of Adjectives in class for tomorrow's Adjective Test
Friday, Oct. 17: After the Adjective Test today, read more in The Pearl.

Monday, Oct. 6: We start reading our class novel, The Pearl by John Steinbeck. By this time, each student should have purchased or borrowed a copy of the novel. We will talk about the background of the novel and of Steinbeck and read Chapter 1 in class. In Grammar we will discuss and review adjectives. Homework will include a chapter summary written or typed in paragraph form and questions from the chapter.
Tuesday, Oct. 7: Continue with Chapter 2 of The Pearl. Another chapter summary is required. Study for tomorrow's Vocabulary Unit #2 Quiz. Grammar will include definite and indefinite article adjectives.
Wednesday, Oct. 8: Vocabulary Unit #2 Quiz. Begin work on Vocabulary Unit #3. Finish study questions about Chapter 2. HOMEWORK: BE SURE TO FINISH CHAPTERS 1 AND 2 STUDY QUESTIONS AND CHAPTER SUMMARIES FOR TOMORROW.
Thursday, Oct. 9: Begin Chapter 3 in the novel. Grammar includes proper and compound adjectives.
Friday, Oct. 10: Continue reading in the novel. Work on chapter summaries and questions.
OVER THE WEEKEND, BE SURE TO FINISH THE RED VOCABULARY WORKBOOK PAGES FOR UNIT #3: PAGES 38, 39, 40, AND 41 TO BE GRADED ON TUESDAY.

Tuesday, Sept. 30: Easy Errors Practice. Do Vocabulary Exercises on pages 28-30 for tomorrow. Read in ORB and be sure that your MLA sheet for your 1st six week Outside Reading Book is ready to turn in tomorrow.
Wednesday, Oct. 1: Easy Errors Practice. Turn in ORB MLA sheet for a quiz grade. Remember that you have a quiz tomorrow over the Easy Error Handout you received last Friday. Reading Practice Packet.
Thursday, Oct. 2: Easy Errors Quiz. Vocabulary Unit #2 Exercises to complete the unit. Due tomorrow.
