Monday: HW: Finish labeling the 7 Principles Foldable. We will complete together on Wednesday. Quiz on Wednesday over "Fact Review" (pink sheet from today.)
Tuesday: Veteran's Day Celebration. (go to 7th and 8th periods only)
Wednesday: Fact Quiz. Work on foldable together. No HW.
Thursday: Applying the Constitutional Principles. Finish pictures on foldable (if you didn't finish in class.)
Friday: Turn in foldable. Start Constitutional Scavenger Hunt. No HW

Wednesday: Decisions, Decisions. NO HW. Reading Quiz 8-1 was not a success! This time ONLY, the grade does not count in your average. If you made a 100, I replaced your lowest grade (except zeros) with a 100.
Thursday: Decisions, Decisions. NO HW.
Friday: Finish Decision, Decisions. Read Chapter 8 section 2. Finish workbook page 27 for homework.
10/26/09:
Monday: Significant Individuals of the Revolution. If you didn't complete notes on AT LEAST seven of the people, you need to do so for homework. The information is listed on my "Documents" page. If you have trouble opening the word document, try the second version where I have removed all of the images. If you still have trouble, try to come to my room in the morning!
Tuesday: Finish sensory figure (hopefully it was done in class in your ISN) and read Chapter 7, section 4 and complete workbook pg 25.
Test on Friday over the Revolution!
Wednesday: Treaty of Paris and give out review sheet. No HW due, just study for test...
Thursday: Work in class on the Review Sheet. Ask questions. Finish review for HW and STUDY!
Friday: Test over the Revolution! No HW.
10/19/09:
Monday: Students worked all period on reading Ch 7, sections 1 and 2 and working on pages 22 and 23 in the workbook. Also, students were given information on Loyalists/Patriots. They will need to pick a side to join and have reasons to back that up for a debate in class tomorrow. (They should have the question on notebook paper.)
Tuesday: EARLY RELEASE!!!
Patriot vs. Loyalist debate. For HW: Finish wb pages 22 -23 if you have not already finished them!!!
Wednesday: Battle of Saratoga. No HW.
Retest instructions have been handed out for the Road to Revolution Booklet. Be sure to schedule a time with me before or after school before next Wednesday (Oct 28th.) The retest is over Chapter 6 in the textbook.
Thursday: Valley Forge letter due tomorrow. Students had the option to take home handouts on the topic.
Your letter needs to include appropriate and accurate details that reflect an understanding of the situation at Valley Forge.
(Think: Who, What, When, Where, Why)
Be sure to include accurate details about the living conditions in the camp and the morale (state of mind, how they felt, spirit, etc.) of the troops. Remember to include a date.
Friday: Finish Yorktown map. Due Monday.

10/5/09:
Monday: Start working on Road to Revolution Booklet.
Tuesday: We spent ALL PERIOD today working on the Road to Revolution Booklet. We have been gathering the information for this booklet for over a week. We are now putting together the final product. Because classes worked so hard today, the booklet will be due when they come in on Thursday. We will NOT have more class time to work on it. I will be here before school WED and THURS if there are any questions. This project is a TEST GRADE!
Wednesday: ROAD TO REVOLUTION BOOKLET (test grade) DUE ON THURSDAY!
No other homework if you have finished your booklet.
Thursday: ROAD TO REVOLUTION BOOKLET DUE!!!
Friday: Articles of Confederation and why it failed. NO HW! :-)

Monday: No homework.
Tuesday: Finish the first 4 events on "Road To Revolution Booklet info chart." Finish WB page 19 (A and B) if you did not finish in class.
Wednesday: No homework
Thursday: Finish the first 8 events on "Road To Revolution Booklet info chart."
Friday: If you did not finish the pink Agree/Disagree sheet and WB pg 20 in class, finish both for homework. You may also finish your "Road To Revolution Booklet info chart." Remember this is organizing information for your booklet which will be a test grade next week!!!
9/21/09:
Monday: Work in Workbook on pages 14 and 15. (Ms. Cockrell had a substitute)
Tuesday: Complete simple illustrations to go with six vocabulary words. Use class definitions from your "Vocab Knowledge Rating Sheet." Only teh word and the picture go on the white paper.
Students who did not pass the 13 Colonies or Colonization test need to come in to retest this week. I am available before and after school and during lunch. Friday is the deadline for these retests!!
Wednesday: No Homework if you have finished your postcards and vocabulary pictures!
Thursday: Make a notice poster announcing the Proclamation of 1763 (British pov) or make a protest poster about the Proclamation of 1763 (colonists pov.) Due tomorrow.
9/14/09:
Monday: Finish Colonization foldable. Each term should have a definition, a picture, and a sentence (that gives different info than the definition!) Due tomorrow - if you don't finish tonight, you will finish your foldable tomorrow before you start your test review. The test review is due Thursday!
The twelve terms are : William Penn, Mayflower Compact, Fundamental Orders of CT, Mercantilism, House of Burgesses, Jamestown, Royal Colony, Subsistence farming, Proprietary colony, Quakers, Cash crops, Navigation Acts.
Colonies Test on Friday!!!!

9/9/09:
Wednesday: 13 colonies map. Finish for HW. Label ONLY the 13 colonies and color by region (use p. 86) Test over 13 colonies on Friday. Word bank available. +10 points extra credit if you don't use the word bank.
Thursday: Work on "Setting the Stage" sheet using Chapter 4. Setting the Stage is due on MONDAY. I want you to have plenty of time to study for the 13 Colonies Test tomorrow!!
Friday: PICTURE DAY THROUGH HISTORY CLASSES!
Then... 13 colonies test. Word bank available. +10 points extra credit if you don't use the word bank.
(Geometry students...if you want to take this test before or after school next Tuesday, instead of this Friday.... let me know.)
EXTRA CREDIT AVAILABLE: To earn an extra 10 test points, watch or read one of the president's speeches (Obama, Bush, or Reagan) and tell me your opinion on the handout.
