About Me...

I am so excited to be at Chisholm Trail. More importantly, I feel honored to 
work with the students in our fabulous district. I believe in doing what is 
best for students. 

I have been in RRISD since 2002. This is my 8th year teaching (I am sure I 
will loose count soon).

My background is Special Education. Summer of 2007 I spent an intense 
several months taking classes for my K-12 Master Reading Teacher 
Certification. 

My role at Chisholm is that of Literacy Coach. I spend my day helping 
teachers and students implement reading strategies in content areas to 
deepen their meaning of content area curriculum. 

On a personal note, I am married to a wonderful man (12 years!) and have to 
beautiful children.

About the Job:

The position covers a very wide range of jobs and responsibilities. I work 
at being a Classroom Supporter, Data Analyzer, Learning Facilitator, 
Curriculum & Instruction/Literacy Specialist, Resource Provider, and a 
Researcher & Learner.  My goals focus on strengthening literacy in ALL 
classes, so I work with teachers to incorporate effective instructional 
methods that will improve reading success and create more independent 
learners.
