My name is Tracy Montoya and this is my 16th year teaching, 13th year in
our district and 4th year at Chisholm Trail Middle School. UTEP, better known
as the University of Texas El Paso, is where I earned my Bachelors of Science
degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Reading.
My family and friends will tell you that teaching is my passion. I love
the kids and my job. Every new school year brings a new garden of students
that I get to help nurture, teach and grow. Seeing my old students return
to visit me is always a priceless gift that I look forward to each year.
My belief is that every student will be successful in my class.
Students will be respectful and kind to themselves and each other. They
will become great at problem solving and thinking for themselves. They will
develop a life-long love of learning and they will want to come to school.
My class will be a safe environment for them to grow, learn and bloom.
Now that I've shared my background and teaching philosophy I'll tell
you about myself. I am married to a wonderful man named Oscar and have 3
sons and 3 grown step-kids. I am very proud to share that my oldest son,
Ryan, has completed his first year of graduate school in Neuroscience at the
University of Florida. My middle son, Taylor, is a jr at Texas A & M, just
finished a summer internship with Shell and is the president of the
engineering organization PAID. My
youngest son, Clayton, won the honor this summer of being one of the top 12
lifeguards in the state of Texas. Along with my sons I have a
crazy cat named Tink and a mini dachshund named Buck. Family is everything to
me!
Next to spending time with my family & friends, I enjoy reading,
gardening, traveling, tubing, hiking, and going to the beach. I love anything
spicy, the hotter the better. Usually you'll find a smile on my face
because I always try to find the best in all situations.
Thank you for visiting. Hopefully this has helped you get
to know me a little better. I'm excited about this upcoming school year and
looking forward to meeting all of you. Together we can do
great things this year.
Sincerely,
Tracy Montoya
