 Students have chosen a book from these titles: Loser, Bridge to Terrabithia, Swindle, Tale of Despereaux, Al Capone Does my shirts, Among the Hidden, and Last Book of the Universe. Students have created pocket folders in which they are recording their learng.  
 

Expectations for Power of Words Pocket Folder

You need to have these for each chapter:

ü  Setting

ü  Character and traits for the character

ü  Summary

ü  Wow Words and explanation

ü  Quote and Reader Response Connection

You need 2-5 of each of these when you are finished with the book:

ü  Simile

ü  Metaphor

ü  Personification

ü  Onomatopoeia

ü  Hyperbole

 Studenrts will be discussiong and reading during class each day with techer check ups each period.

 students will need to ask permission to take books home as there are only enough to have for each class during the day.
