Announcements: Week of Feb. 6, 2012
Art UIL - Next Practice is Wed. February 8, 3:30 - 5:00pm. THIS IS OUR LAST PRACTICE BEFORE COMPETITION DAY!!!
Be practicing on Moodle at home too! Competition Day is coming up FAST! - Saturday February 11.
Artyouth - 8th grade Artyouth's Next meeting is Monday Feb. 13th with Mrs. Kutz.
6th and 7th grade Artyouth members will be meeting with Ms. Koch on Monday Feb. 13th.
Grades
Where is your child with their grade in art? Do they have missing work?
If so, please get them to a morning tutorial to catch-up (7:45 – 8:14).
If you have questions regarding a grade, please call or email your art teacher.
We all encourage parents to use the Home Access Center option of Gradespeed to check your child's progress in not only our classes, but all their others at CTMS as well! Call the school at 464.2500 if you have questions on this monitoring option for parents.

Art 6

Art 7/8 – Students are beginning their unit on form and clay slab building. Students will be working on their rough draft and template design for their original containers with lids.
Art I - Students are working to complete their geometric form sculptures using plaster cloth. These sculptures began as a 3-dimensional geometric form (cube, pyramid, etc.) that have been layered in a variety of textures created with plaster cloth. Once construction is complete they will be given unique paint finishes. Look in the display cases at school, they look AWESOME!
Art I (Advanced group) - Students are working on form and texture, creating complex creatures by joining several geometric forms together using wire armatures and papier mache.
Altered Book assignments #5 and 6 will be due at the end of this six weeks!
