About The Teacher

Welcome to my website!

I've had a varied career...twelve years as a special education teacher, eight
years as a paraprofessional, full-time-at-home mom, and attorney. I liked
law a lot, but I LOVE teaching! I've volunteered as a Girl Scout leader,
unit director, and trainer, Cub Scout leader, PTA board member, and nature
center trail guide, so children have been an important part of my life for
quite a while.

I'm originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, and I miss the food there
(though we do love Austin). I've been married to Clyde, who works in the
computer field, since 1976 and we have three children. Melissa, our oldest,
married her husband Chris, and they live in Pflugerville. They now have a
beautiful baby girl, Kaylee -- our first grandchild! Our son Jeffrey was in
the army, stationed with the Old Guard in Washington, D.C. He had returned
home, but was reactivated in the summer of 2008 and went to Kuwait as a
vehicle commander in convoys going into Iraq. He's now home again and
studying geophysics at Texas Tech. Our younger son, Nicholas, also goes to
college in Austin and shares my love of music, movies, and politics. The
rest of our family consists of three cats (Orchid, Sherlock, and Minivals).

My hobbies are reading (anything and everything!), astronomy, music, and
computer gaming/mudding.

Please call me at any time with any questions or concerns!
