Homework (HW) will serve to foster responsibility and support learning in the
classroom. HW will not be graded. However, if a student frequently fails
to complete and return to class with assignments, this will be reflected in
their "personal development" on their report card.
From time to time, I will assign special projects that will be completed at
home. These assignments may be graded. I will give, as a minimum, a week
(including a weekend) or longer to complete these more in-depth projects that
require additional time to complete.
It is important that ALL writing be completed in the student's own
handwriting. Different students require different levels of parental support
to complete their assignments. My recommendation would be that you allow
your child to work as independently as possible on assignments. Feel free to
review and reflect on the work with your child as needed. I appreciate your
support and help in developing your child's HW responsiblity.
