Please read to your child nightly for about 15 minutes. As you read, have
your child find their high frequency words in the text(These will start
coming home in the next few weeks). A routine practice
of the words is highly recommended as well! After completing the reading you
can ask some questions like "Where did the story take place?", or "Can you
retell the story?", or "Does this remind you of anything, or another story?".
Letters and sound recognition is crucial for the kindergarten year, so
routine practice is highly recommended.
