This will be my 17th year teaching and my 11th year at Coupland School. I
love teaching middle school students and choose to stay in this field every
year. It's fun learning with and from this level of young men and women.
I graduated from Permian High School in Odessa, Texas of the famed
book/movie/tv show "Friday Night Lights" in a class of almost 800.
Afterward, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English with a Teacher's
Certification from Schreiner College (now Schreiner University) in
Kerrville, Texas. I taught four years in Stanton, Texas and two years in
Tacoma, Washington.
My husband, Chris, and I have been married for 17 years, and we have
an 12-year-old son named Austin and a brand new daughter named Kamryn. We
have two dogs who are named from my favorite novel, "To Kill a
Mockingbird." Their names are Scout and Boo Radley. We live in the country
near Bastrop and McDade.
My mission is to have fun while learning. I want my students to
successfully communicate in writing and speaking for whatever they choose to
do in the future.
