As part of the iPad initiative here at Danny Jones I have been exploring the
use of an education platform called Edmodo. One of the things that I like
better about it than Google Classroom is that it has a parent portal. You
also do not have to have an iPad to use Edmodo since it can be accessed
through the web using any internet connected computer.
With that in mind, I would like to encourage you to take a few minutes to
sign up for the parent portal so that you can see exactly how it works and
keep informed about what is going on in the classroom. For now, I am making
it the focus of my online communication instead of the website. While I will
continue to update the website I would like to encourage you to create your
parent access account and explore Edmodo. In doing so, please give me your
feedback about it. Ipads in the classroom and as such their use is a
learning experience for everyone. Your feedback will help me make the best
possible use of them in the classroom.
In order to create your parent account you will need to ask your child to
log into their Edmodo account either on a computer or using the website.
Once there, they will need to go to their student profile. It will contain a
unique code for you to use in creating your parent account.
Once you have this code you can download the Edmodo app or go to the website
at and use it to create your parent account. If you
need any help, please don't hesitate to contact me.
