What is Quest?
Quest is the program for academically gifted students. Quest, is available
to students in grades K-12 and is designed to meet the diverse needs of the
gifted population. Quest program options enable gifted students to work
together as a group, work with other students, and work independently.
Flexible pacing and grouping patterns as well as independent investigations
are also employed to allow students to learn at a pace and level appropriate
for the students' abilities and skills.
The program is based upon Dr. George Betts' Autonomous Learner Model
for the Gifted and Talented. This model challenges students to be
responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of their own
learning. Currently, the Quest curriculum is delivered through multi-
dimensional units within the four core subject areas of language arts,
mathematics, social studies, and science. Central to this integrated
academic approach is the ongoing development of critical and creative
thinking skills.

What is the program design in middle school?
For the 07-08 school year, gifted middle school students will be served
through differentiation in the regular classroom. All teachers of core
subjects are trained in G/T and differentiation strategies. The Quest
teacher is available to all teachers for assisting in planning and
implementing differentiated lessons for the Quest students.
--------------------------------------
Will Quest be on my child's schedule?
Quest will not appear on the student's schedule. At this time, Quest is not
a class at the middle school level. Students are served in the regular
classroom.

How will the teachers know that my child is a Quest student?
Teachers have access to this information, along with information given
