Homework


STAAR Writing and Reading Homework will be going home on Thursdays and returned by the following Tuesday through April.
Math will be added after spring break.


*Student weekly folders – this year, folders will go home from every grade level on WEDNESDAY each week.  Please look for this as it will contain graded work and other information from the teacher.

Reading

Students will be required to read 100 minutes each week.  They will record the amount of time they read each night in their planners. Parents, please initial the reading log section of the planner each night. 
 

Spelling HW

Monday - Color the back of your word cards. Copy your list into your agenda. Cut the word cards apart. Sort your word cards by spelling patterns and the sounds they make.

 

Tuesday-Have someone call your words to you. Write the words under the correct column on a piece of notebook paper.     

  

Wednesday-Write 5 sentences using at least 10 of your spelling words, Underline the spelling words in your sentences.

 

Thursday-Glue your word cards into your spelling folder under the correct category. Practice your words for the test tomorrow. Take a practice spelling test at home. Write the words you miss 5 times each.

 

Spelling tests will be given on Friday, and students will receive new words on Monday.
