Can I make up a failing classwork/homework grade?

Yes, I encourage all students to make up failing work. All you
need to do is make the corrections in a different color; no blue,
black, or pencil.

Can I redo work that I am unsatisfied with for a better grade?

Yes, just make corrections with a different color. The only
difference is that the amount of points given will be reduced
based on their original grades (for example, a grade of a 75 will
receive more points than a grade of a 80); regardless, they will
both have a chance to make up their unsatisfactory grade.

I turned in makeup work to replace a low grade, so why is my average still the same?

Any late or make-up work will take a while for me to check. As a
teacher, I will always give priority to current assignments,
tests, and projects.
Keep in mind also that depending on the material, some
assignments will weigh more than others (quizzes & projects will
count more than homework).

Are we allowed to take our writing journals home?

Typically, I do not allow students to take journals home because
I don't want to risk something happening to it. However, if you
are responsible enough to ask for the journal after-school then I
will let you take the journal home.
