I am the proud mother of three children. Steven is the father of my 4
grandchildren. He and his wife Chris live in Singapore with their 3 youngest
children (Allena, Gabby, and Clayton). Their oldest child, Justin is a
freshman at Southern Illinois University this year. My son Matthew lives in
Cincinnati, Ohio. My daughter Erin has recently moved to Berlin, Germany for a
year to be the visual effects producer on a movie. I am a graduate of Baylor
University and have taught at Double File Trail since 1995. Other places I've
taught are Texas City, Galveston, and Durham, North Carolina. My family has
lived in Waco, Galveston, Durham (North Carolina),San Antonio, Bethesda
(Maryland), Little Rock AFB (Arkansas), Scott AFB (Illinois), Wiesbaden
(Germany), and now Austin. I love to visit family, travel, and read! I have a
small 4 year old adopted dog whose name is Ben Cornelius. His favorite thing
to do is to play ball, so I play ball before and after school every day. His
next favorite thing is to go to school with me on Saturdays.
The mission of our learning community is to come to school ready to learn
and develop skills needed to be prepared for third grade. We will respect
and encourage each other, be attentive listeners and active participants -
always doing our personal best.
