Our second grade newsletter, Fridge Facts, is now on this website. It will be posted weekly. Math homework will begin this coming week. Spelling will take the form of Word Work lists this year. The children will all be given a spelling screening. Then they will be given words appropriate for their level each week to work on while performing class activities. The first couple of weeks we will be doing whole group work as we learn the skills they will use during daily work practice. Some of the words will be taken from the Round Rock ISD Second Grade List because those are the sight words each second grader is expected to be able to read and spell correctly in writing products by the end of the year. You will be given a list of those words at Parent Orientation on September 8. Other words will be those containing sounds and patterns your student needs to practice. The first week was outstanding and I'm looking forward to our second week together.
