What time does my child have to be in school?

The school day begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 2:45 p.m. Students
should be in the classroom and ready to learn by 7:45 a.m.
Children arriving after this time will be counted tardy.
Students enter the class at the 7:40 bell. DFT time starts at
7:55. If your child comes in after 7:55, they will automatically
receive Tray 1.

What are Tuesday Folders?

Your child will bring home a red folder every Tuesday. This
folder will contain work from the previous week along with
various communications from the school. Please sign the folder
and send it back the next day. There may be occasions that other
information will be sent through your child’s homwork folder.

When does my child have homework?

*Students are expected to read for 20 minutes each night. When
Guided Reading groups start, they are expected to read their
assigned book and do any response. The books read are to be
recoreded in the booklog box in the homework folder.
*Students will generally have Math homework sent Mon. - Thurs. in
their blue homework folder to help reinforce what we do in the
classroom. These assignments are also designed to help involve
parents, so feel free to help your child if she/he needs it.
Please initial each day to show that your child has shown you
their assignment sheet.
*There is no formal word work homework, but many students need to
practice the words at home as well as in school. There is a link
to Spelling City on my Links page. This is a fun way to
practice.
