This year, as in years past, my classes are writing to soldiers
stationed in Afghanistan. Each of my language arts classes
has one soldier we have adopted for this year. We have written
letters, and now we want to send packages to them. I feel very
strongly that this is an excellent way for students to be involved
and to think beyond themselves. I respectfully ask for your support
in this project.
We are now collecting items for our first packages to be sent,
hopefully, within the next two weeks. I have listed below the types
of items that I'm told these soldiers love to receive. We will also
collect money for shipping. It costs approximately $15 to send each
package, so if you prefer to make a small donation, that would also
be very much appreciated. If you know of something I should
add to our list of things to bring, please let me know.
Again, I thank you for your generosity and participation.
