Art club is open for any student at DIS to join.
Fifth grade art club will meet before school at 7:45 on Tuesdays, while
sixth grade art club will meet before school at 7:45 on Wednesdays. Sixth
grade students who are invloved with Student Council may attend the art club
meetings for fifth grade on Tuesdays and work in a group together. There
is a $5 fee to join, but if there are any concerns about this fee please do
not hesitate to contact Mrs.Trammell.
The main purpose of art club is to create works of art to display and
beautify the Durham Intermediate campus. Some of the favorite projects we
have done in the past include painting ceiling tiles, making gift artwork
for our administration and the school board, bigger-than-life paper mache
art supplies, and much more! The sixth grade art club from 2006-2007
painted a calf which is on display in front of CapitalOne on Southlake Blvd.
