Curriculum

Students work on a variety of projects and media to develop confidence as artists. Fifth Grade focuses on art elements and basic techniques. Every artist will paint a canvas with acrylics, create original 3-dimensional ceramics, complete realistic and abstract drawings, have a clear understanding of art history, and develop personal styles in their artwork.

Projects this year include:

• Realistic drawing with a twist
• Impressionism style oil pastel drawing "If I could have any pet in the world it would be..."
• Henri Matisse inspired still life painting on canvas
• Illuminated Letter in clay with a metallic glaze
• Conservation poster and landscape diptych with watercolors
• Positive and negative space monoprints
