Good afternoon!
We had a great week! In reading we began our novel study over "The Tale
of Despereaux", being the story of a mouse, a princess, some soup, and a
spool of thread. We have been using the book to also supplement our cause
and effect reading skills. We also completed some research on crest designs
knights used on their shields in Medieval Times and designed a crest of our
own.
In math we sharpened our multiplication skills with division this week.
The kids used manipulatives to show the relationships in fact families and
played a game called Circle and Stars to reinforce those skills.
For Science this week we performed Reader's Theater plays about the
Solar System. The students recorded their performances today and will
receive a CD of their performance to watch at home. We have such a talented
class!!
Finally in writing we worked on stretching and adding details to our
sentences.
Next week, I will be away at a Math Conference on Tuesday and Wednesday, but
Mrs. Bisher will still be here to take over =)
Have a fantastic weekend!
