Yeah it's Friday!!! Despite the chilly temperatures we made it through
the week with out freezing solid. Today the kids enjoyed the school wide sing
along filled with fun songs and holiday spirit. The teachers even got in on
the fun and helped act out the 12 days of Christmas. Some of them were quite
funny and creative.
We have been reading about the outrageous Herdman's in The Best Christmas
Pageant Ever. They have taken over the annual Christmas play, and boy are
they changing things up. You never know what might happen next when the
Herdman's are around.
The class continued to work on measurement this week. We worked with length
and perimeter. The students also reviewed all of the skills that we have
introduced this semester . They applied the all of the knowledge and skills
that they have learned in order to complete a semester review test. It is
amazing how much they have grown in their math skills.
We have continued to expand our knowledge of economics during social studies.
The students are learning about budgets, credit, saving, and supply and
demand. We had a lot of fun exploring these terms through Planet Orange.
Today, the kids got to play economic games after completing all of their
economic tasks on line. Here is the site again if they want to play at
home : www.orangekids.com
Next Friday is our party as well as our end of semester TICKET AUCTION!
Please start sending in small gift items for the kids to "buy" with their
tickets =)
Get in some holiday shopping, cookies baking, and have a great weekend.
