We have been busy practicing our Thanksgiving Production. The Sweet Playhouse Players will be doing a skit and sing again for you. It will be on Friday, November 20th, from 8:15-9:00. We hope we can have some snacks and spend some time with our families in class. I will give you more detail later, just wanted to give you a heads up on the date and time.
Next week for science we will continue our unit on Systems. We started to germinate some lima beans. Hopefully on Monday we will start to see some of the parts of a plant. This week for homework they have to draw a system they can find at home. A system has parts that when seperated from the whole, may result in the part or the whole not working (exp. blender, vacuum, tv...)
In math we completed our unit on Money. This week we will learn about Perimeter.
In language arts we will continue to learn about how to make connections while we read. Also, we will learn about cause and effect in stories. in writing they will continue the writing process of their expository stories. They are writing some interesting stories. We are in the revision phase and working on adding more details to their stories.
This week the "Homework Tracker " came home with comments that I wrote. It is not necessary for them to answer the questions or make corrections. I hope that you will discuss with them how they could of improved their response entries. Hopefully this will help guide them in improving their responses this week and to know what I am looking for.The tracker is due on Thursday with the rest of their homework.
There were no spelling words this week, so there will be no spelling test on Monday. They will have their new words in their BEAR on Tuesday.
