2011-2012 art activities
April 14-The Empty Bowl Project was held at Round Rock Methodist Church
from 11-2. Our servcie club, teachers, Mrs. Bartholomew's 4th graders and
their SeniorPals all made ceramic bowls. The Service Center of Round Rock
made for $13,000. Several students came and served drinks during the sale.
April 28-The Million Bones Art Installation at the Austin State Capital was a
great success. There are pictures on the Forest Creek Artists section of our
web page. This art installation reminded us of genocide around the world.
Our FCE fifth graders all made ceramic bones for this huge event. Their
bones were placed within the installation. Thank you again for all your
support for the project!
October 7-8 was the Round Rock Art Council Chalk Walk
All of the FCE students worked together to create a chair that will be
auctioned at the festival. The Tew Family participated in the slient auction
and bought the chair for the Forest Creek library.
