As some of you may already know, I was diagnosed with colon cancer a couple
of years ago. I had a re-occurance at the end of the last school year and
have spent the summer undergoing chemotherapy - again. I only have two more
sessions and the CT scan shows that I am headed for remission. I am looking
forward to gaining my strength back and be in full teacher mode to make this
a successful year!
I am so excited to be back at school. This is my 21st year to teach. I have
been at Forest Creek since the second year it opened and I taught 2nd grade
at that time. I then taught 5th grade for six years and loved it! However;
because of my medical needs, my position two years ago was to work with all
grade levels as the Interventionist in RtI. I enjoyed getting to work with
students of all ages in small groups - but I especially liked working with
the 3rd and 4th graders. Last year there was an opening in 4th grade so I
took it. I really enjoyed working with 4th graders last year, and I'm
looking forward to another great adventure this year!
I am married with three grown boys. My oldest son is living in Arizona and
has a one-year old baby boy. My middle son lives in Round Rock and has a
three year-old baby girl. My youngest son married his high-school sweetheart
and now lives in Jarrell and his wife is going to school to become a nurse.
My husband and I enjoy having the house to ourselves. We also like to go
camping, fishing, and attending Renaissance Festivals. My other hobbies are
beading, scrap-booking, gardening, and of course - writing!
