I graduated from Southwest Texas State University, which is now Texas State
University, with an undergraduate in Elementary Education and a kindergarten
endorsement. I got married a week after graduation! I then returned and
received a masters degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in special
education. I am currently both TAG and ESL certified.
I taught for three years in the Austin Independent School District. Then I
became a stay at home mom for six years! Then I returned to teaching and
this will be my seventh year at Forest Creek and I am very excited for my new
class of Flashy Fish! In my class everyone is expected to treat each other
with respect and I have high expectations for each one of my students. Our
classroom has much structure and the students learn the value of
organization and responsibility.
I have a wonderful husband,Lee, who is very involved with our kiddos, and
three beautiful children. Madison is 12 (7th grade), Kylie is 9
(4th grade), and Braden is 7 (2nd grade). Madison has ventured away from her
mom to Ridgeview middle school! We also have 5 pets at home. A
dog named Tammy, a cat named Pebbles, a guinea pig named Baby Guinea or Tadd
(depending on whom you ask),and a hamster named Cupcake.
Right when school got out in June we added a new addition to our home, a
chiweenie dog named Tater! He kind of looks like mashed potatoes;) So, we
are currently potty training a puppy! Our house is never quiet:) It is
always full of excitement. Most of our extended family lives in The
Woodlands and Houston area. My dad moved to Round Rock to be near us because
he never wanted to miss a soccer game!! As a family, we like to go boating
at the lake, go to movies, and just run around together. We spend most
weekends out on the soccer field. I enjoy shopping for items for our home,
clothes, and things for my kiddos.
This will be created the first few weeks of school!
