Are Running Club and Marathon Kids the same?

No, Running Club and Marathon Kids are not the same.  Running 
Club is a
Forest Creek Elementary after school activity where students earn
foot
tokens for miles ran. Marathon Kids is a RunTex sponsored
activity district
wide where students keep track of miles run up to 26.2 miles, a
marathon,
spread out over a period of 6 months.

Can a student be in Running Club if they are not in Marathon Kids?

Yes.  The Running Club is open to all students at Forest Creek, 
and do not
have to be participating in Marathon Kids. Every Monday
(starting October
3rd)Running Club takes place at the track from 2:45 until 3:15.
There is no
sign up to be in Running Club. Just have the students let their
teacher
know that they will be going to Running Club that day.

Can miles run in Running Club count towards miles run in Marathon Kids?

Yes.  Only miles in Running Club can count towards miles in 
Marathon Kids.

What can my child count as miles for Marathon Kids?

In Marathon Kids ONLY miles ran or walked on foot count.

Do I have to sign up for Running Club?

No, but your classroom teacher needs to know that you are going 
so they know where to dismiss you. You can come any Monday that
your parents allow.

What time is Running Club?

Every Monday, time permitting, from 2:45 until 3:15.

How many laps for foot tokens?

K-1 earn a foot token every 16 laps or 2 miles
2-3 earn a foot token every 20 laps or 2 1/2 miles.
4-5 earn a foot token every 24 laps or 3 miles.
