Meet Mrs. Rhea

Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to 2nd grade. What an exciting year we have planned. I am looking
forward to working together with you to create a positive and productive
learning experience.

Just a little information about myself… I graduated from the University of
Texas at Austin (Hook ‘Em Horns!) with a Bachelors of Liberal Arts. I am
certified to teach Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade general education, as
well as ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) for all grade levels.
This will be my ninth year teaching in Round Rock ISD, and my third year at
Forest North. I have taught one year of pre-kindergarten, one year of first
grade, five years of second grade, and one year of third through fifth graders
in an inclusion setting.

In my life away from school, I am the mother of two beautiful children,
Natalie (7) and Owen (3). Natalie is here at Forest North with me. My husband,
David, is a Systems Administrator at EA/Bioware. He is my high school
sweetheart and we have been married for thirteen years. We both love cooking –
he is the grill man, I make everything else. We also love to hike, watch
movies, read and just hang out together as a family.

I have a great passion for teaching, and I am extremely enthusiastic and
motivated in the classroom. It is my goal as a teacher to inspire my students
to become lifelong learners. As an advocate for children, I hope to encourage
creativity, promote social responsibility and above all, have fun!

I feel as though open lines of communication between the parent, student, and
teacher are the key to promoting an educational climate that is conducive to
learning. Together we can make a difference! Please feel free to contact me
anytime with any questions or concerns.

Again, welcome to the family. We’re going to have a fantastic year.
