Dear Families,
It has been my joy to be your child's teacher this year. I love watching them learn and grow. Isn't it amazing how much progress they have made in reading, vocabulary and their knowledge of numbers and math concepts? One of the things I love about first graders is their enthusiasm for learning new things. Things that we as adults take for granted are new and exciting to them and cause us to look at things in a new and different way, too.
You have been very supportive of your children this year. It is obvious that you care deeply about your children and their education. Your support in helping with homework and seeing that it is done and turned in on time is evident. You have kept up with folders and signed papers and shown your children that these things are important by the way you follow through.
They have also grown in their social skills. They have learned to work as a group or with a partner. They have learned about accepting someone who is different from themselves and I hope they have learned to always do their best.
It has been a busy year and it is coming to a close quickly. My career as a teacher is coming to a close as well. I will be retiring this year. I have many wonderful memories of the 32 years I have spent in the classroom. I am glad to have had you and your child included in those memories.
Have a wonderful summer and I wish you well as you and your child continue his/her adventures in education.
Sincerely,
Roslyn Miller
