What days are special classes?
We are on a six day rotation for Fine Arts and PE classes.
Holidays with no school are not counted, so the next school day will be the
next day in the rotation.
How is my child doing in class?
I'll be happy to have a conference with you to let you know! Just call the
front office at 281-482-1201 to set up a date, or email me at
dpeacock@fisdk12.net.
When is lunchtime?
You're welcome to come join your child!
What do I do if my child is absent?
Please remember to send a note to school telling why they were absent. The
office must have these on record. You may request make-up work after two days
of absences. I will list the daily assignments and students have one day per
day absent to complete the work.
How much time should homework be taking?
For this age child, homework should be 30 minutes or less. Of course, some
days may take a little longer if studying for a test. If it is taking your
child much longer than this, there may be a problem with not getting work done
in class.
Sometimes children assume they don't have homework if they don't
have any worksheets. But each night, homework should include
reading about 10 minutes, practicing math facts about 5-10 minutes, and
practicing spelling words about 10 minutes.

What else do I need to know?
Following guidelines of the Capturing Kids' Hearts program, our class now has
a Social Contract, which is a child-composed set of behaviors of how we agree
to treat each other in our class and school.
