Our Conference times are 10:00-10:30 Mon., Wed. & Thrs, and 2:30 - 3:00 on Mondays & Wednesdays. All conferences are scheduled through the office at 281-482-1201. No emails regarding conferences please.
MATH
Math lessons will be conducted in large & small groups. Our focus is on problem solving using UPS, and hands-on activities to teach and reinforce skills being taught. The students will have opportunities to practice their math skills through our computer programs and numerous math games. A time Test on given on Mondays & Fridays. Students progress on an individual basis with our Math Tub system.
Science/Social Studies
We will alternate Science and Social Studies within each 9 weeks block. Our science and social studies focus will be hands-on activities within the guidelines of our TEKS.
Report Cards are sent home every 9 weeks. Progress reports are sent 1/2 way through the 9 week session if your child is experiencing any difficulty.
Book Order will be sent once a month. I want to encourage all of you to participate in ordering books from the Scholastic book orders. These books are on the appropriate reading level for second grade students, much less expensive than you would pay for them in stores, tax free and most of all fun for students to read. Please write your child’s name on the book order form and send a check made payable to Scholastic Book Club.
I am excited about our new school year. We are off to a great start. My goal is to capture your child’s heart and love for learning.
