This is the beginning of my 21st year at FHS. I hold teaching certificates
in English and History, and I am certified to teach gifted and talented
students as well as Advanced Placement courses in both English Language and
United States History. I have taught AP US History at FHS for 12 years. I am
a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
I am married to Robert Hanegan and we have three great kids. Wade (FHS class
of 1999), Katie (FHS class of 200) and now a teacher at Friendswood
High School; and Valorie (FHS class of 2003). We have two grandchildren:
Harper Kate Hanegan (age 2) and Beau David Brabham (age 1). Of course both
grand babies are precious.
For the past seven summers I have graded APUSH essays for the College Board
in Louisville, KY. During the summer, I have enjoyed attending workshops
sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities in locations such as
Salem, Mass; Mt. Vernon, and Ellis Island. I have also made it my mission
to visit as many Presidential homes or libraries as possible.
To prepare students for all state and / or college board exams; to prepare
students to be concerned
and knowledgable citizens. To encourage students to become avid life-
learners, to enjoy history
everyday, and to investigate their own family histories.
