AP Chemistry Computer Links
I strongly urge you to use these website links for extra information,
tutorial help, and in depth study. While I have reviewed all of the sites, I
CAN NOT GUARANTEE that all of the information contained in them is correct or
appropriate. If you should find any problems with the sites, please let me
know. Also, if you should find other sites that you find that are very
helpful, please let me know.
This is the specific website for our chemistry book. You need
to
see Mrs. L for the ID and password. There are reviews that
work
with your interactive CD and sample test questions to help you
review. As this book is older now, the website is not kept up
as
well as the new 7th edition below.
CHEMISTRY by Zumdahl 5th ed. WEBSITE
This is the website for the updated version of our textbook.
There are flashcards, terms to know, and review media that is
online and doesn't require the CD. It uses the same ID and
password that the 5th edition uses. However, there are a few
items that we can't access.
CHEMISTRY by Zumdahl 7th ed. WEBSITE
This is the AP review book that we will be using to review for
the AP exam. You do not have to buy it from amazon.com, it is
just the cheapest price I have found so far.

The Student Lecture Notes page for The National Math & Science
Initiative (NMSI). These NMSI AP Chemistry Lecture Notes can be
either downloaded or printed and taken to class. Instructional
videos are also posted here! This is done by an outstanding AP
instructor Rene McCormick (I use some of her notes in class).
Excellent Notes and Video on Important Topics in AP (follows Zumdahl)
Rice University has put together a WONDERFUL site that is a
great
source of Chemistry information. All referenced sites have
been
reviewed by a panel of chemistry educators and are
"graded" for usefulness, technology, etc. You will
have to register as a student; to gain access.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT DIGITAL LIBRARY
This webpage contains screencasts covering many topics. They
were done by a fellow AP teacher and are very good.
Chemistry Tutorial Screencasts
Chemistry drill and tutorials, very good site on many topics.
Has
interactive questions. Go to Chpt. 12 for gas law problems.

chemistry. Safety, measurement and basic chemistry is covered.
THE CHEM TUTOR
They are divided by topic and can provide good review of major
topics. These can be used to review and study for tests, etc.
Just be sure that the material was part of the topics that we
studied in class. I HAVE NOT looked at every single topic, so
compare with your class notes!!!
Good Chemistry Study Cards.
These video lectures and notes cover 11 main topics. From
Berkley High School in Berkley CA. Good for reinforcement of
concepts.

WEB ANIMATIONS
This is the e config simulation of the sublevel energies
changing
and orbital notation samples discussed in the AP notes.
ELECTRON CONFIGURATION SIMULATION
This is a very good tutorial on molecular geometry using the
VSEPR and hybridization theories. The 3D images are
especially
helpful.
VSEPR tutorial with 3D images
This is a good website on electrolytic cells. The discussion
of
overvoltage and the electrolysis of brine (NaCl(aq)) is very
good. There are sample problems on calculating metal amounts
plated during electrolysis.
